He Calls Them Blessed: Raising Children to Impact the World They Live In

Parents encounter numerous challenges in nurturing the latent gifts, talents, and abilities within their children. These challenges include the instilling of: knowledge, spiritual growth, core values, accountability, and responsibility. As children develop, they require the necessary training needed to activate their God-given potential. Once activated, these qualities, help us all to understand the profound revelations of life. Left untouched or under developed, the child can develop into a person with unfulfilled potential and unrealized possibilities.

The pages within this book are filled with stories, examples, and lessons sure to ignite a passion in parents to look deeper and find the hidden treasures, not only within their children, but also within themselves—resulting in raising children who positively impact the world in which they live.

This book makes a wonderful gift to the new or expectant parent. It is also a valuable tool for parenting and/or family ministry groups.

About the Author – Shirley Jordan Roberts

Shirley Roberts, while in elementary school, enjoyed writing fiction tales. Unfortunately, as a black child, her teachers were not interested in her writing abilities. In high school she was told she could never obtain a college degree. Later, while working as a secretary in one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in New York, she decided to pursue a college education. Graduating with a bachelor’s degree, she continued to New York University and obtained a master’s degree in postsecondary education. Her teaching experience has been at the high school level, and as an adjunct professor at a private college in New Rochelle, New York.

As a mother to three daughters and four grandchildren, she has developed a sensitivity for families. She lives in the state of New York and attends a large church in Brooklyn. Her profound concern is to convey to Christian parents the importance of rearing their children while realizing that a child is a gift from God.
